Bio/Testimony

I first gave my life to Christ in 1997, after a life rebelling from every understanding of God I had as a child. I felt he wanted to take me away from all that fun I thought was having, soaking up the lusts of worldliness.

Through some serious sanctification in the beginnings of my newly found relationship with Christ, I decided to give it ALL the day I heard His call to help in establishing Calvary Chapel Mission Hills in 2004 with Pastor Dave James. I really didn’t have a clue what I would do other than greet people and share God’s love with them. Over the next couple of years I would lead Men’s ministry events and help fill in for Tuesday night studies occasionally. It was one particular night I had dinner with my brother in Christ, talking to him about a desire that I had to learn drums. I chalked it up to just another fleeting pipe dream yet he mentioned it could be the Lord’s call. That was all I needed to hear.

In 2005 our small church of about 50 finally got a permanent worship leader in Greg. He also had his daughter singing on occasion, which was just awesome. I thought for a while there he was going to get a few more members to complete the team but to no avail. I was just about a year into the, “self taught drumming student at home program”, when Greg started asking me when I would bring them to practice. It took a few weeks before I gave in and gave it a wail. Greg was so very patient and extremely helpful in boosting my confidence.

Looking back I can’t think of a better way to learn and play worship than with this team of musicians. I’m so blessed to be a part of this ministry and would’ve never imagined, 5 years ago, that God would use me in this way. God is awesome and He continues to bless me every time I play to Him and His people.

But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength so that I might preach the Good News in its entirety for all the Gentiles to hear. And he rescued me from certain death.
(2 Timothy 4: 17)

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)
